Meet The Staff
Danielle - Founder, Co-Owner and Instructor
A classical ballet dancer since childhood, Danielle studied at some of the most prestigious academies in the country and has danced in China, Russia, Poland, and the United States. She went on to study at Butler University's Department of Dance, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in Dance Pedagogy. After a hip injury ended her professional ballet career prematurely, Danielle discovered a passion and talent for fitness instruction. She trained and studied extensively during her hip rehabilitation and went on to become a certified instructor in Pilates, Barre, and Yoga.
During her time as a group and private fitness instructor, Danielle began to see a void in the industry for a truly ballet-based, all fitness level Barre program. This void spurred her to design and develop what is now STUDIO 3. Danielle has reinvented the difficult and sometimes dangerous technique of classical ballet into a system that is safe and appropriate for all fitness levels. Most importantly, STUDIO 3 classes are fun and effective! Danielle and her team can't wait for you to join us and experience the difference our training methods can make!
Stephanie - Co-Owner and Instructor
Stephanie Reitz was born and raised in Upstate New York. After obtaining her undergraduate degree in Arts Management with a concentration in Dance, she began her career as a professional dancer with Busch Gardens, Tampa. Following her performance career, she spent several years as a Dance and Pilates instructor in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.
Stephanie has also worked for local non-profits and corporate businesses where her focus was on business and operations management. She is excited to be part of STUDIO 3 and to continue her passion for teaching and fitness.
Stephanie is a certified Pilates mat instructor and a certified Barre instructor in the Studio 3 Barre Method. She is thrilled to be partnered with Danielle to be able to expand the business so more individuals will reap the benefits of everything Studio 3 has to offer.
Erica - Barre Instructor
Erica’s love for barre began at Studio 3 when she was looking for a studio that offered effective but fun options that also were a great stress relief from her career as a critical care Registered Nurse. During her eight years in nursing she had tried multiple group fitness classes but had never found the right fit.
After one barre class at Studio 3 she was hooked! Over time numerous benefits from the classes were apparent. The strength gained by barre meant no more leg, ankle, or foot pain after twelve hour shifts at the hospital. Also, improved posture led to decreased back, shoulder, and neck pain.
Over the years Erica has spent a lot of time playing multiple musical instruments, practicing various styles of dance and twirling baton. Teaching barre has given her a new creative outlet, while promoting mental and physical health, to blend her love for music, dance and fitness. Erica is a natural teacher making her classes true to Studio 3’s mission; welcoming and accessible to all fitness levels. Erica’s love for barre and enthusiasm to help others find joy in exercise shines through in her classes.
Erica completed her barre training through Studio 3 in June 2020. In her free time you’d probably find her either at the beach or drinking an iced coffee while spending time with her mini labradoodle.
Caitlin - Barre + Pilates Reformer Instructor
Caitlin began her journey with Studio 3 when she was looking for a local Pilates class. She started out taking Pilates classes and was encouraged to try a barre class. It only took one class and she was hooked! Caitlin quickly felt the benefits from barre with improved physical strength, decreased tension in her neck and shoulders which actually led to less headaches, and improved posture.
Caitlin’s passion for barre was evident early on when she began inviting friends and family to the studio for classes. Teaching was the next step! She was ready to learn more about Studio 3’s barre method and to be able to share her passion with each class. Caitlin has completed Studio 3's comprehensive Barre method training and is a certified Studio 3 Barre method instructor. Caitlin enjoys challenging herself and her students by focusing on the small things such as “zipping the abdominals up and in” during each exercise and working on the mind body connection throughout class.
Caitlin is currently training in Pilates reformer where she is able to really focus on body alignment, engaging deep core muscles and overall strengthening. She is very excited to be able to share the experience of working on personal balance and strengthening through this amazing workout with others.
Originally from Ohio, Caitlin grew up cheerleading, trying out different styles of dance and even ballroom dancing for Ohio State’s club team. Caitlin moved to the area with her husband Curtis and dog Ruby when Curtis was transferred to the area for work. You can often find Caitlin out in Dunedin on the weekends enjoying time with friends, walks on the beach with Ruby, and enjoying the sunset view with dinner at Olde Bay.
Alyssa Velazquez - Pilates Instructor
Originally from Miami, FL, Alyssa has been a dancer for over twenty years. Alyssa pursued dance in high school at a performing arts magnet program and went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of Dance at Florida State University. During her time at FSU’s School of Dance, she was honored with various opportunities to deepen her dance practice and perform around the country and abroad.
Due to various injuries, she was exposed to Pilates during her physical therapy sessions as a tool to return safely back to dancing. Pilates became an essential component of her continued health as a dancer and performer; having seen firsthand the benefits of a continuous Pilates practice in managing her injuries, relieving pain and moving more efficiently. Her experience with Pilates and physical therapy influenced her belief that movement can be healing.
This belief drove her to pursue her Pilates certification through the Balanced Body method and pursue a career as a physical therapist. She is currently in her first year of physical therapy school at Florida International University. She aims to use her knowledge of physical therapy and Pilates in her instruction to provide fun, flowing, functional and challenging classes that are accessible to every age and body. Her ultimate goal is for each person to end her class feeling better and stronger than when they started.
